The Raytown farmer who posted a sign on a semi-truck trailer accusing Democrats of being the “Party of Parasites” received more than $1 million in federal crop subsidies since 1995.

But David Jungerman says the payouts don’t contradict the sign he put up in a corn field in Bates County along U.S. 71 Highway.

“That’s just my money coming back to me,” Jungerman, 72, said Monday. “I pay a lot in taxes. I’m not a parasite.”

What is the return of having people on welfare?

What is the return of subsidizing crops?

We don’t have to pretend that farmers getting that gubment money isn’t a handout. But let’s also not pretend that the two are the same.

People on welfare tend to just be in a temporary bad spot and are trying to better their lives, whereas farmers are the laziest people on th planet.

I’m not disagreeing with that. And I’m not saying welfare as a whole is bad.

But shouldn’t your pro vegan lifestyle be in support of farmers.

I grow my own produce. I don’t need pesticide infused garbage from farmers.

That’s some talent being able to grow produce in the West Texas soil.
